‘Being in love is…just about the worst thing that can happen to a person’.

You Down There and Me Up Here is a fragmented journey into the minds of two maladjusted young men struggling to hang onto themselves in the face of crisis- one a drug addict who believes himself to be the rock star Nick Cave, the other a neurotic romantic facing up to what it means to be in love. An intense, dreamlike piece utilizing abstract storytelling and innovative new music.

We Talk Of Horses are a brand-new theatre company based in London and East Anglia. The company’s focus is on new writing, new theatre, and new ways of telling stories. With this aim, we hope to make bold, challenging and visceral work, brought to audiences through an ethos of collaboration. We believe young artists and creatives can achieve more together than they can apart. This February, we make our London debut.
